Country Girl 03:31
country girl once I was a country girl but then I got blindsided a wildwood flower falling out the birds all lost their calling this must be ….a bad spell once I had a singing father but then he got blindsided a tumbleweed in the wind all his songs expired this must be …a bad spell in my home town, in my own home town my heart kicked around once I was a country girl and I loved the fields and flowers big blue sky at my shoulders tall grasses were my cover this must be …a big blue sky

just a friend you’re not impressed with me i’m not the girl that you dream about i’m just a friend i’m the one who gets to listen to you talking about the goddess who just walked in i’m not the one i’m just a friend i’m the one who watches you as you watch her walking slowly by and wishes i was in her shoes instead of over here talking to you i’m sitting and i’m listening but, really i am wishing that one day you’d see me through the crowd and realize that i am the one not just a friend no, i am the one, not just a friend no, i am the one
3.
Johnny Finn 02:49
johnny finn oh johnny finn where do i begin hate is out and love is in oh don’t you know to suffer is a sin go and find your love and just let her in johnny, johnny, johnny, oh johnny, let your love in her skin will be sweet like cinnamon her knees will be weak like willows in the breeze she will bend and sway you can count on that day oh, johnny finn just let her in johnny, johnny, johnny, oh johnny, let your love in oh johnny finn where do i begin we’re slipping fast and time is thin go and ask your old man he’s the king oh, he will tell you the same thing just let her in johnny, johnny, johnny, oh johnny, let your love in

Summertime 04:16
summertime i can’t stand the summertime warm breezes and the sunshine summertime, you were once a love of mine oh, i love the falling rain sky so sad I know its name oh, it’s a cryin’ shame oh, I couldn’t make our dreams come true i couldn’t bring out the best in you i couldn’t say the things I needed to i fell for you summertime
5.
this is my room this is my room i intend to stay here for a long time i have no need to leave or see the world i am content to wake up to the sound of the birds singing in the pear tree in my backyard and watch my garden growing watch how fast my little boy gets going it pleases me and I have no need to leave it is a good thing you don’t come around or call i need some time to think and get my feet back on the ground i think I lost myself with you tried too hard to please you and I loved you like a dream even though I knew it was too soon and we’re really so different anyway still, i think about you almost every day
6.
Perspective 02:36
perspective i’m learning perspective and where things belong and just where to put them when life’s going wrong like shoes go in the front hall and dishes in the sink plates on the table go to the kitchen for a drink like love’s on a pillow in the bedroom at night old memories in the basement where they stay out of sight now, those feelings that you’re feeling have their own special place too it’s like sorting shapes and colours like we did when we were 2 years old the good ones are for keeping the bad ones are not anger’s for the yard sale love’s a picture on the wall when I get that feeling and I don’t know where it goes I remember my perspective like I put on my clothes I sort out my feelings like colours and shapes when you have some perspective that’s all that it takes

Happy Nights 02:19
happy nights i read it somewhere, it sounded really good if only i could take my life and stick it in that book the story’s really funny, it’s filled with light it’s got lots of good jokes and happy nights i heard someone singing, it sounded really good if only my life was filled with happy little hooks sweet melodies with pretty little twists where nobody ever fights and everybody, everybody loves to kiss

too soon to miss you is it too soon to miss you and too soon to be kissing in the kitchen i would be lying if i went out into the night without asking the question is it too soon to miss you and is it too soon to call you in the middle of the night just for nothing or will it all come crashing we’ll, we’ll burn together in the ashes and is it too soon to ask you can’t you see my pretty lights and how they shine for you is it too soon to take a photograph of you and is it to soon to miss you
9.
power of the night everything’s bristling in the night even the soft breezes are bright and the clouds hang heavy and in my dreams i’m tangled in the trees the clouds hang heavy and in my dreams i’m tangled in the trees something is shaking in the night leaves are scratching at the sky as I search for cover ‘cause I can’t fight the power of a powerful night

Wednesday 02:37
wednesday wednesday comes at five o’clock i think i’m in a city i love though my plans are rather vague i like that here nobody knows my name oh, i think i will find my way around i have a map and a sense of the town i’ll wander and try not to get too sad like in the day when it was all that i had when i come here i don’t make any plans i follow the day like the back of my hand and stretch it out as long as i can…. and go slow, baby monday comes at 9 am i’ll screw up my courage and dive back in times have changes just can’t walk out the door but i’ll pick it up where i left off before and go slow, slow baby
